Finding Our Spark

Best friends and roommates Lucy Ross and Blake Foster tell each other everything—except that they’re in love with one another. They’ve been each other’s person for over a decade, but their world is turned upside down when Tucker Avery comes to Willowbrook and begins to date Lucy.

Blake begins to pull away, assuming he’s missed his opportunity with Lucy. As things continue south for Blake and Lucy, Tucker asks her the question that would change all of their lives:

What if you could have us both?

After an adventurous and experimental camping trip, the three of them leave the woods as a trio. Because of Blake’s homophobic parents and the town’s opinion of Lucy’s dating tendencies, the three of them decide to wait to make sure things are solid before letting anyone else know they’re all together.

Their plan falls apart when a coworker calls out Blake and Lucy on their behavior, and the news that they’re together spreads like wildfire. Now, despite what is happening privately, Tucker’s left looking like the loser ex who hangs around Lucy and the guy the town always hoped she’d end up with.

But as the weeks go by, the situation weighs on Tucker, and it’s he who starts pulling away.

Can Tucker keep being their dirty little secret as everyone around them gives him strange and pitying looks? Can Blake bring himself to come out so they can all be public? Will the three of them come up with a solution that makes them all happy, or could they lose Tucker?

Tropes: new guy in town x roommates in love, being kept the secret partner, camping trip, chased through the woods, small town romance, ‘what if you could have us both?’, sword crossing, why choose romance
